My 7 year old neighbor wants me to go to Chucky Cheese with her?

There are two seven year old girls that live next door, they just moved in a couple of weeks ago. (they are cousins but live in the same apartment). They come over to my patio to play with my pets

and like to hang out with me. They invited me to go to Chucky Cheese

tomorrow for one of their birthdays (approved by the parents, I presume). I declined but only because I think I would feel out of place there. I don't know their parents except to say

hi to them in when I see them outside. I saw the disappointment in their faces when

I had to make up a lie for the reason I couldn't go to the birthday party.

I don't think I had any other choice, though. I am too old to be going

to little girl birthday parties. I'm 48 (guy)

I think you definitely made the best decision by declining their offer.

If the mother had wanted you to go, I'm sure that she would have asked you herself. If you had opted to go, you might've made her feel uncomfortable.



It appears as though you are like their role model. Continue what your doing by allowing them to play on your patio, but i would suggest maintaining that level of friendliness and nothing more. It could result in some highly uncomfortable situations for both you and the mother.

well if they play on ur patio then maybe they look up to you like a grandfather, maybe they didnt know theirs and u sorta take that place in their hearts. maybe thats y they looked so disapointed. anyway, i would speak to their parents (guardians) and just say that they invited you, and get to know them better too. ur NOT being a wuss. if their parents didnt know that they invited you, you might've looked like a stalker, so i think u did the right thing

hey dude, i think you did the right thing, lots of people get into lots of trouble for just being nice, however, talk to the girls parents, and let them know you're willing to help out with the girls (if you are), and let mom, or dad, make the next move. good luck. you seem very nice.
No you are not being a wuss. They are seven years old and you are a fory-eight year old man. What is wrong with this picture. Where are their parents? Why do they like hanging out with you and why do you like hanging out with these little girls. Stop it. Your intentions might be good but it does not look good.
