Why do young Moms and Dads let their children run around in a restaurant after the kids get done eating?

Do they not realize how rude this is for other people. How abusive it is to the restaurant owner and people that are working there, unless it is a Chucky Cheese or such? I don't mind fun, and running around .....but what about manners, and what are you really teaching the children: Please I really am wondering.Why do young Moms and Dads let their children run around in a restaurant after the kids get done eating?
It is not just young parents, but I agree entirely that it is rude. It ruins the meal for everyone else. I have gone so far as to ask parents to control their children.Why do young Moms and Dads let their children run around in a restaurant after the kids get done eating?
Couple of reasons:



1) They do it so their fidgety kids stop bugging them about being bored.



and/or



2) Never trained their kids on how to act in a nice restaurant



and/or



3) Didn't bring stuff (like crayons, etc) to keep them entertained.



Taking kids to a nice restaurant is stressful. You don't want to yell at your kids in public but you don't want them crawling under the table either. Most of the time you try to go to family restaurants that are loud and have things for kids to do but sometimes this is not an option (esp when you're on vacation). Bottom line is parents need to train their kids on how to act in a restaurant.
Honestly, I don't know. I guess they're afraid to discipline their children in public. My daughter will get down from her seat and ask to sit in her dad's or my lap, but the one time she got up and started trying to run around she was returned to her seat and when she started throwing a fit I took her out to the parking lot got down on her level and said "You will NOT behave like this and if you keep throwing a fit or trying to run around she was going to get her butt spanked and she would sit there until we were done eating. She stopped her fit, gave me a hug and a kiss and we went back and had an enjoyable evening.Why do young Moms and Dads let their children run around in a restaurant after the kids get done eating?
Im giving birth to my son next week and im a young mom, i also noticed what your talking about, the child was running and playing with brooms and such, it is very disrespectful and the even worse thing was is that the mother was a few years older than me, I mean if i know how to disipline and keep my son in line, why in the world dont she? Isn't it just common sence not to let your child run around like a heathen?
I HATE when parents do that. It's even worse when they are in a store and they let the kid run around, out of site. What if something happens to them, or someone tries to steal them ! I'm going to be a young mom and i would never let my child run around like an animal. It's not just the young parents. this question is what you could call "ageist" because its not just young mothers...i know plenty of young mothers actually teen mothers that have Better behaved children then the older women with children...yes some parents don't pay enough attention to their children when out in public but think before you write things because age has nothing to do with it...its all in how they raise their children...
ugh its so annoying. and you know why they do that? cause they are annoyed by their own kids. they dont want to deal with em and let them loose like wild animals escaping. if they arent annoyed by their own kids then they are careless parents, who dont give crap on a cracker about other people but them selves.
I don't why parents let their children run around in restaurants and it is rude, but it's not just young parents who do it and it's not very nice to stereotype one group of parents.
Why not go to a resteraunt which is not a family resteraunt if you don't like kids? I never see kids in the resteraunts we go to as a couple.
I have seen more "older" parents allowing it than younger parents. It is rude, but what is more rude is you pointing your finger at just the young ones... Stereotype much?
Because some parents are so involved in themselves they will let their kids run around anywhere and hope someone else is watching them.
cause the parents suck and their kids will wind up to be uncontrollable EMOs so the jokes on them huh?
