What should i do for my 6-yr-olds birthday?

so...i'm not a creative or outgoing person. my daughter is, though. she's turning 6 in two weeks and is really looking forward to her party. the problem is i don't know what to do! there aren't any "chucky cheese" or similar arcades or funhouses to go to. there is about three feet of snow outside. we're trapped in the house. i thought about involving a pinata but really i have no clue. any ideas? i'm looking to take about 2 hours or so, plus cake and presents. any suggestions are appreciated. thanx!!What should i do for my 6-yr-olds birthday?
You can do it! First of all, have a theme. Since it's snowy outside, maybe you could have a tropical theme, like a Hawaiian Luau, for a nice change of pace. You can get cheap grass skirts for all the kids, and put in a video of how to do a hula dance. Birthday Express has a flip flop craft where the kids decorate their own flip-flops. Think of some fun games. If you go along with the Luau theme, play pass the coconut. Have all the kids sit in a circle and play music while they pass the coconut around. Randomly stop the music and whoever is holding the coconut when the music stops gets out of the game. You can play this with any object if you go with a different theme, like a favorite character or something. Pinatas are great, just make sure you have some little lunch bags so the kids have something to put their candy and toys in. Have some pizza and of course a cake and throw in some other traditional party games like musical chairs, bingo or pin the tail on the donkey. If you go to www.birthdayexpress.com they have lots of themes and they offer activities to go along with whatever theme you choose. You could also try oriental trading post, they have a web-site too. What should i do for my 6-yr-olds birthday?
we just had a "Spongebob Squarepants" party for my granddaughter (she's 5)...It was freezing, snow, the same..We had it indoors, with a pinata, pin the tail on the donkey...Just invite a few friends over, have a cake and ice cream,,,it'll be fun...You don't have to go crazy!!!!
My daughters love having tea parties. They dress up in necklaces, hats, dresses, tiaras, you name it. We have a very formal tea (cookies, tea, finger sandwiches). Send out invitations and let the little ladies act as proper and grown-up as possible.

I am an Usborne book consultant, and if you don't mind you should check out my website for a book called "50 Things to Make and Do" or "50 Rainy Day Activities."

These books, among many others, give simple craft ideas that your daughter and her friends can make at the party and take home with them and they are very fun. My daughters and I get lots of ideas from these crafty books. My website is www.ubah.com/m2029What should i do for my 6-yr-olds birthday?
it all depends on who you plan to invite-if it is just girls-look for places like:

1. Libbey Lou/in a mall-they do hair and make up and other girly things

2. Build a Bear workshop/in a mall-you can include boys and girls

If cost is an issue-do a at home party in the afternoon, and invite only a select few of close girlfriends to spend the night. You can go to a Party City if you have one or go online to OrientalTrading.com or Birthdayexpress.com and order a theme. Some packages you can order even include the favor bags.

You can see if there is a character store somewhere and rent a favorite character show up, like a clown, dora, rug rats, spongebob, etc.

You can make it a treasure hunt, and hide clues through the house. Everytime they find the next clue, you can have a small bowl of treasures for them-like rings, necklaces, stickers, etc. (All that you can get at a dollar store.) And then have a box at the end (the treasure) but they must bring it to you to open, as you are the "Captian". Then when you open it, you can give them the treasure (goodie bags). I have many more Ideas, just email me.
My niece loved it when we had a tea party for b-day! We did tea sandwiches and little cookies and tea (or any other beverage) with the little cups %26amp; saucers and all...it was alot of fun. Her and her friends dressed up and she wore a tiara since she was the b-day princess..they had a ball! She is a girly-girl though, so it depends on your daughter, I suppose. Good luck and have fun! What should i do for my 6-yr-olds birthday?
B4 even thinkin bout this idea, make sure all the children aren't illergic to Strawberries!!! Invite a few of her friends over the night b4. Have a Strawberry Shortcake slumber-party!!! I went 2 my lil cousin's best friend's bday party and she had 1. It was the best 6 year old party I have ever been 2. Anyways, they should have a pinata that has Strawberry Shortcake on it, fill it up with all red and pink candy, if this isn't possible just fill it up wit yummy goodies. The night b4 or n the morning hav the girls make sum cupcakes (Strawberry or Vanilla prefrebally). Then, have them make and design their own cupcake. From icing to toppings. That way u don't have to worry bout buying a big cake then throwing away about 10-20 slices. For food, serve Strawberries with white and milk chocolate drizziled over them. Also have some Strawberry ice cream. Then serve some Pizza as the main entree. What 6 year old doesn't like Pizza? For breakfast serve some good ol' sausage %26amp; pancakes with fresh strawberries. For invitations u can hand out cards with Strawberry Shortcake on it, this will let the parents kno that obviously the theme is Strawberry Shortcake %26amp; they should get ur daughter something with Strawberry Shortcake on it!!! Don't act shy if the kids mothers or fathers ask wat is the spending limit on ur child's gift!!! Say somethig over 10 15 dollars but nothing over 60 u kno so they can't really go wrong!!! Cute goodie bag ideas r....

You know your daughter best!! Think of her favorite movie or characters, when shes at school or whenever go out in buy plates, tablecloth excof her fav charcter, invite family %26amp; friends to come over %26amp; then you can suprise her one day after school. But if the snow is keeping you inside %26amp; you are unable to get out, maybe print out soem pictures of her fav characters, let her color them %26amp; then hang them up exc. Invitr a few of her friends over %26amp; family %26amp; jus get soem kiddie music, board games, %26amp; movies, %26amp; balloons!! The kids can then by occupied while teh adults talk. I don't know lol!! I could come up with more ideas, but really YOU know her best, what are her interests exc exc? I'm sure you'll coem up w/ something %26amp; your daughter will LOVE it!! Good Luck.
make penguin posters,

play that new penguin movie "Happy Feet"

Have the kids dance to some of the music afterwards or play musical chairs (with chairs decorated like penguins)

Have the kids play pass the baby penguin (like hot potato)

Make some penguins out of paper with paint, glue, sparkles, etc.

Get a penguin cake

there is a number of websites that are on kids theme birthday parties with idea, crafts, and game ideas. good luck and enjoy.
Here is my 8 year old daughter's idea..........you can make a paper hat for her. and if you have any snacks give them to her but

don't over do!!!!!! sing dance cook do things s likes to do!!!!

and like you said you can get presents for hr and if you want cake is always good. let her make the games up!! good luck!!
have some friends over. You do not have to have a theme. Play games, pin tail on donkey, musical chairs, musical statues, pass the parcel, let them decorate cup cakes, make their own pizza (use scone dough and decorate with what they like). do some sancing. Give prizes.

Kids love prizes food and games (some the cake as well) Give them these 3 things and a happy party you will have. It does not need to be expensive.
